"Burn baby, burn!" That was what almost every African American in the LA district were screaming out, as they were incinerating their local stores in their streets; even the ones that were owned by the blacks. The movie, "Heatwave" was a film about the struggles of the daily lives of African Americans, and how their responses of discrimination and racism created chaotic incidents.
The movie takes place around the 60s in the city of Watts. A family from Alabama moved to Southern California, hoping to find better opportunities. During that time, a father was only able to get a worthless job in which he then got fired; meanwhile a friend, who dreamed of becoming a jet pilot, ended up working for minimum wage at a car wash. However, the protagonist, Robert, continued to pursue on his dream career on becoming a journalist as he works for the LA Times.
It was not long after conflicts began to escalate, and the riots began. In the end, after witnessing violence in his surroundings and disappointment drawn upon his family, he manages to seek out the truth, even if his life depended on it.

Ebola, the Good, the Bad, and the Dumb
Since this past summer, there has been a major scare of the Ebola virus that spreader throughout West Africa, and now the virus has spreader here in the US. Of course there are stories that will keep those who are worried updated, but they should really look out for the stories many websites publish.
http://abcnews.go.com/Health/ebola-america-timeline/story?id=26159719
This is a good story, because it's all true and it's basically a timeline of who and where the virus is spreading.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2786433/Could-Ebola-used-weapon-ISIS-Terror-experts-raise-prospect-jihadists-infecting-spreading-virus-Western-countries.html
This is a very, very bad story, because of the fact the US actually stopped to think the terrorists from ISIS are infecting themselves, so they could kill us?

I am just disappointed on how reporters have the audacity for writing something so false, and exaggerating like this..

Dear White People
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/19/dear-white-people-trailer_n_5512181.html
I actually saw this article long before I was in journalism, and ever since I saw it, I knew I wanted others to see about movies like this because even up to this date, many colored people are still being misinterpreted as something people assume, so with this article, not only does this show a way how African Americans silently fight back, but it could advertise and grab the attention of many movie-goers.

Snorting Rat Poison
The one article that really grabbed my attention was about an adolescent being charged of "accidentally" giving his friend rat poison instead of cocaine. Okay, 1, what was the friend thinking??? I mean is this how young teenagers nowadays are "living the life"? 2, what was the seller thinking?? I mean rat poison? REALLY? I'm no druggie, but I think I can pretty much tell the difference of what cocaine and rat poison look like.

All The Presidents Men Review
When it comes to Journalism, it isn't always just sitting in a desk typing away all day long. In the movie All The Presidents Men, the main headline is about the attempted crime occurring around the White House. Obviously, many readers are anxious to know why this happened, and who had something to do with it. So it's up to the journalists to find out what caused the crime in the first place. It's way more challenging when there are more than one newspaper that want their hands on the information before anyone else. Two journalists, Bob Woodworth and Carl Bernstein, work together day after day, night after night; investigating, searching, and combining scraps and bits of as much information they can get their hands on. It's amazing how no matter how many countless doors slam on their faces, they still managed to solve the whole case.

About Me:
My name's Giselle, but most people call me Gigi. I'm 17 years old, living with my mom, dad, grandmother, 4-year-old fraternal twin boys, a baby sister, and my dog. For as long as I could remember, I have had a passion for music my whole life. No matter where I go, or what I do, I tend to start singing and/or dancing. I love hanging out with my friends, whenever I have the time of course. I do admit though, that I do have my moments where I'm not myself, and try to avoid others, but that's momentarily. Overall, I -usually- try to be the great, funny friend that my peers describe me as.
